Dehydration occurs when our bodies do not have enough fluid to keep them working properly. Many people are surprised to learn that dehydration can be life threatening.

Because infants and young children have a higher metabolic rate and may not be able to verbalise that they are thirsty, they have an increased risk of dehydration.
